nautical night out

ali and i sported our best nautical duds tonight, and unfortunately, that was about the highlight of the night. we all know my utter disdain for times square, aka the seventh ring of Dante's hell, but after deciding to meet up with erin and ryan down there for Superbad i conceded--and then the time they had tickets for was sold out.
so ali, scott, and our new roomie becky got tix for a later showing. at this point i still had confidence in the evening although my good nature had wained somewhat after fighting the idle crowd of tourists blocking times square (tourists think new yorkers are mean because well, new yorkers ARE mean when they have to go to times square. nobody goes to times square, and going there just makes you mad inside. again, Dante's hell). but alas, Superbad, the long-awaited "comedy of a generation" that i had been so hoping to see was an utter bomb. perhaps the crudest thing i've ever seen. just ick. so now, to recap: nautical attire, hot subway, crowded & gross times square, crappy & gross movie. i guess new york isn't always peaches & cream. (but love it all the same!)

Thursday Night: LES for a Show & Cake

last night found us at the usual stomping ground....the lower east side to catch a comped show at mercury lounge and chow on some vegan cake at teany post show with friends meaghan & chris. ah, another perfect thursday eve.
